The Radiology facilities at KCH include on site fixed 64-slice CT scan, four conventional X-ray rooms, two ultrasound rooms, 1 mammography room and 1Computed Radiography room.

Chines Doctors arrive in Malawi

Kamuzu Central Hospital welcomes the 9th Chinese medical team.

Every year the Chinese government sends a team of doctors to work hand in hand with the physicians from Kamuzu Central Hospital. This year the team was received by the Hospital Director Dr. Jonathan Ngoma on 15th July.

New Dialysis Clinic

Kamuzu Central Hospital will on Thursday start using the 12 new Dialysis Machines which has been installed at the referral hospital..

The facility also covers patients from both the central and northern region districts.

DIGITAL RADIOLOGY

Digital Radiology was first introduced at KCH in 2009 by UNC Project and used then standalone Computer Radiography (CR) system.

2018-Philips Digital X-ray unit installed which prompt the Picture Archiving and Communication System to facilitate the transfer of digital images to Doctors, instead of printing on films.

KIDNEY STONES SURGERY

Kamuzu central hospital is now able to offer percutaneous (keyhole) surgery for patients suffering from kidney stones.

Kidney stones are mostly caused by not drinking enough water, eating too much meat and salt plus much weight gain.

ROAD ACCIDENTS AT KCH

KCH has been seeing an increase in the number of road traffic accidents over the years. This has been due to an increase in the number of motor vehicles, motorcycles and bicycles accidents.
